Hello and Welcome. I’m Autumn, and fitness is all I have ever really known. I have been training private clients and group classes for the past 24 years. At 16 I started taking full contact boxing lessons, after taking my first class I was hooked and started coaching right after. Watching women realize how strong and capable they are was the greatest feeling and from then I knew helping women would be my life.
Has your focus always been on wellness and feeling your best?
No! As a young woman in the fitness industry, I was consumed by fitness and forgot to incorporate wellness of the entire body. I didn’t know much about the nervous system, how vital recovery is for our body and hormones, or the role of the breath. I was focused on movement and what I thought was healthy eating.
Did you play any sports growing up?
I have always been involved in fitness and sports. Growing up I competed in various sports including men’s wrestling and gymnastics and later became a collegiate cheerleader.
So what led to the change?
In my late 20s, I was diagnosed with celiacs and on top of that, I was born with a lung condition that meant that I suffered from chronic pneumonia and other lung infections. On top of that, I found myself unintentionally overtraining and undereating. My hormones crashed, I was unable to recover, and continued to reach for caffeine to combat it all. With this came my continued journey to understanding wellness. In particular wellness for women. How important the right type and amount of training is, sleep, breathing, how crucial form was to movement, and the importance of training for healthy joints.
What is your why?
My son! At the age of 38, I had my first child and got married. I know that I am the only person who can ensure that he is raised by a Mom who is happy and healthy. And in order to do that, I have to make my mental and physical health a priority. I train so that I can keep up with my son. I want to be that Mom who is snowboarding and climbing trees with him and feeling great while doing it.
